Kristin focuses her practice on real estate and land use. She has represented buyers and sellers in purchase and sales transactions, advised brokers regarding brokerage laws and Commission rules and regulations, and assisted developers with federal subdivision and land sales registrations. She also advises lenders and borrowers in financing transactions and buyers and sellers on a wide range of title issues. She has drafted and negotiated a variety of real estate documents, including purchase and sale agreements, commercial and residential leases, easements, licenses, loan documents, consulting agreements, brokerage manuals, and restrictive covenants and amendments.
Kristin worked as an associate in the Business and Real Estate Department at Sherman and Howard and as an Assistant County Attorney with Jefferson County, where she advised the Board of County Commissioners, Planning Commission, Board of Adjustment, Planning and Zoning Department and Assessor on real estate and land use matters. She has extensive experience in land use hearings and administrative processes involving zoning and subdivision matters. She has also worked with the Colorado's open records and open meetings laws and the Colorado Special District Act.
Kristin received her B.A., cum laude, and her M.S. from the University of Denver, where she participated in the Honors Program, presenting her Honors Thesis at a Roundtable Discussion at the American Sociological Association Annual Meeting, and was awarded both the OMNI Award for Sociological Contribution in the Area of Public Policy and the William Key Award for work in Applied Sociology. Kristin graduated from Cornell Law School in 2001, where she was an editor for the lii-bulletin-ny and attended the Summer Institute of International and Comparative Law in Paris.
Kristin enjoys traveling and cooking, and is in the process of writing a cookbook. She is also learning to play tennis and is re-learning Spanish in hopes of taking a trip, in the not-to-distant future, to Barcelona.
